Our Operations Director, Daniel Forsythe, recently hit the 17 year mark at The Missing Link and we sat down with him to discuss his amazing career with the company and everything in between.

Daniel began working at The Missing Link in 1997 as a Systems Engineer but dreamed of owning his own business. That dream was realised when he purchased the company in 2002 with business partner and friend, now Managing Director, Alex Gambotto.

“Seeing the company go from a handful of people to where it is today as a strong competitor in the market with over 50 staff has been an amazing and rewarding journey”, Daniel said.

“But there’s no secret to our success: we’re fanatical about responding rapidly to our client’s needs, working collaboratively on solutions, delivering on time and on-budget while over-delivering on service expectations.”

Now Daniel oversees the technical team as well as drives the technology strategy for the business and jointly sets the company’s strategic direction; an equally challenging and rewarding role.

Daniel loves technology and the innovation that drives it and maintains a broad expertise in current and emerging technological developments.

Business partner, Alex, has often said, “Computing is in Daniel’s system. In fact, it can be hard to tell where Daniel stops and the computer starts…”

Health and fitness is Daniel’s number one passion in life. He says, “A healthy body helps me be the best I can be in all areas of my life although there’s not a lot that will deter me from satisfying my sweet tooth”.

Daniel was into sports from an early age with soccer, rugby, tennis, surfing and snowboarding. However, these days his busy schedule doesn’t allow for as many extra curricula activities and he’s switched his focus to one main sport, cycling.

Daniel co-owns the retail bicycle shop and service centre Bikeminded with his brother Tristan. Daniel says of this venture, “We decided the bike industry was lacking two things – customer service and the quality of repairs and new builds.”

He spends most of his spare time in the Blue Mountains with his brother both riding and planning big rides. In November, Daniel and a group of friends will tackle the Victorian mountains. The group will start at Falls Creek and plan to conquer Mt Buffalo and Mt Hotham in 4 days, covering approximately 350km.

He recently featured in Executive Cyclist Magazine highlighting his passion for cycling and fitness whilst maintaining a busy work schedule. Check out the full story here.
