Company culture is strong at The Missing Link and a big part of our culture is helping others who need it. Not only does it remind us that there are ways we can help others, it also builds great team rapport.
As one of our staff incentives the management team provide us monthly BBQ’s. One Friday each month staff are treated to a BBQ lunch, this year they’ve also added themed BBQ days to the usual sausage, salad and steak affair. Staff make a donation and get to nominate which charities they would like the donation to go towards.
This year our Monthly BBQ’s have supported the following charities:
In addition to our monthly BBQ’s we also have staff who are always looking for ways to give back. This year we had two staff participate in the St Vincent de Paul CEO Sleepout (raising over $3500), and a number of staff do the Light the Night Walk for the Leukaemia Foundation. One former staff auctioned off his stand-up desk when he left the company and the winner donated the money to Against Malaria.
In May we held our first Biggest Morning Tea in support of The Cancer Council and in June our first red clothes day for Red Nose Day. This year staff also elected to sponsor a child in Africa who we chose through Compassion.
Minimising our Social & Environmental Impact
We have also looked for ways to minimise our social and environmental impact. New ways we have introduced in the last few months include stocking our board room with Thank You Water and our bathrooms with Thank You Hand Soap. Our bathrooms also got updated with Who Gives A Crap toilet paper, the paper is made from 100% recycled fibres and 50% of all profits go directly to WaterAid who assist in implementing high impact sanitation projects throughout the developing world.

We look forward to supporting even more charities in the next Financial Year.
