Grace Hopper, a pioneering computer scientist and Navy rear admiral once said, " The most dangerous phrase in our language is, ‘We’ve always done it this way’ ".
To me, this is one of the most powerful philosophies to keep in mind and a constant reminder to take a proactive approach to all things in life, to continuously innovate and to embrace the opportunity.
It's particularly pertinent to me as Head of AI and Automation at The Missing Link, where it's my role to research smart technologies and their application to help customers to become more successful.
I'm also able to draw on my many years of experience, having helped businesses to be more efficient through commercial consulting, AI and automation. Prior to joining The Missing Link I led an intelligent automation start-up to sustainable profitability.
The best part of my job is seeing the look on clients faces when they see what’s possible with AI. To date I’ve trained over 2,000 people in the responsible and effective use of generative AI (primarily Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT). I have also authored books on prompt engineering.
My line of work means that my mind is constantly engaged with the challenge of finding effective solutions for clients. To wind down, I enjoy yoga, playing golf, fishing and live music. But most of all, I love making my two daughters laugh.
My favourite gadget is my Kindle - it feeds my love for continuous learning.
